New XD9

Well I purchased my first handgun today. I found an XD9 pre owned at my LGS for 279.00. I thought this was priced low. So I took a deeper look. They actually let me take it apart and inspect the pieces. Everything looked new. Part of me thought it might’ve been the Mod 1.0, which I would’ve been cool with, but it was a Mod 2.0. It was either that or a Ruger security 9. I shot both at the range this afternoon and my abilities made the decision for me. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. I’m stoked about it.

Op, funny story how I got mine. One weekend I was working a show and back then if I seen something I wanted I did my 4473 before the show opened lol Oregon is a poc state, so I liked to get first in line with osp. So I’m super excited about this sig p320 subcompact. Eventually get it out to the mountains and the pos chokes on everything. Immediately go to town to the local pawn shop, trade it for my now xd service mod2. That xd runs like a champ.

Well I took it to the range yesterday and put 300 thru it. Not one hiccup. Ran perfectly. It’s a smooth shooter being a more full size gun than the compact of subcompact.

Since it was used I figured to my untrained eye it had been oiled and cleaned before it was put up for sale. It was so dirty. My cleaning rods and alcohol pads weren’t coming clean for about a half hour in the barrel alone. Don’t even get me doing on the trigger and slide assembly.

It’s cleaner now than I think the last owner ever had it.

As a 16+1 double stack, I didn’t realize how quick I ran thru that ammo
