    Yep, pretty much this. The southern California I grew up in is no more.
    CA lost its way in 1992 and San Diego lost its way in 2008

    Outside of the typical red counties (riverside, san berdoo, yolo, etc) OC is still pretty cool, but only for so long and it's damn expensive.

    Moving to TX was the single greatest thing I did for my family and I have a level of guilt associated with not doing it sooner.

    We rent a 6/3.5 house and are having a 5+1/3.5 built right now for 75% of what our RENTED 1400sq ft 3/2.5 bed condo sold for when we left in Jan 2015.

    I've only bought maybe 5-6 guns since I've got here, but the big difference is TX isn't keeping track. I carry every day and my LTC has saved me from a 25mph over speeding ticket... down the median

    Everyone out here is insanely nice and 1/2 the people I've met would give me the shirt off their backs. My kids and the neighbors can run the streets freely like we did in the 80s...

    the list goes on and on...

    RIP SoCal lol.
