    I agree with the "don't hand over the money until item is in hand".
    Bought a rifle from a member. Met member, got rifle, checked it out, gave money and I kept the rifle, he kept the money. I went home, he went shopping.

    Me either. Personally, I'll find other sources than the TGT classifieds to buy a gun. I got chastised by two members for asking a question about the price of a gun that was for sale, that I was interested in buying or doing some trading. That won't happen ever again.

    It's entirely possible he sold the gun more than once. My read is that you just paid for a very good lesson in business.

    For the most part, I kind of doubt it would be a criminal matter that the DA would even do anything. Wouldn't hurt to call them and ask, but more than likely they would consider it a civil matter and not a criminal one.
