    I think having MORE law abiding gun owners armed in an event is better than having fewer. Having armed LE would be a no brainer. Idiotic move by the NFL.

    I have no problem with the NFL policy. Especially in Chicago, NY, NJ, or DC. and in Cali too. Off duty, to me means off duty and not with rights that us common folk don't have. Equal protection under the law or form the law or whatever.

    That is not the law. Equal protection does not mean LEOs cannot do things others cannot. By any stretch.

    Why did the NFL come up with this policy? Has there been a rash of off-duty cops shooting spectators in stadiums?

    This seems likes an easy fix in Texas just have the sheriff and local pd's ban any game day traffic works and security at the sporting event...

    That might work for Six Flags, but NFL is a monster business for billionaires. Cowboys are looking to host SuperBowl 2018 right now. No way Arlington is going to do anything to jeopardize that.
