    General Zod; All,

When I was in grad school in the 1970s, the SAME sort of "scientists" agreed & warned everyone (and in the SAME HYSTERICAL manner) that if we as humankind did NOT immediately spend a TRILLION dollars that we would be in an ICE AGE within a decade.

Did I sleep through the ICE AGE or was it just a "PACK OF LIES", just as "human caused climate change" is in 2018??
(The saying, "Fool us once, it's you fault; fool us twice, it's OUR fault." comes to mind.)

    yours, satx

I'm an avid outdoorsy guy. I have noticed a huge change in migratory patterns in wildlife. That's a huge tell somethings amiss.

Maybe not so much warming as loss of habitat, due to increase in human population and changes in agricultural practices?

Growing up in the area, we never had white wing doves in South East Texas ... unheard of. You wanted to hunt white wings you went to the Valley.

Now, with the change in agriculture along Mexican border, Northern Mexico and South Texas, the white wing population now appears to be larger than the mourning dove population in much of SE Texas. Texas Parks and Wildlife pretty much backs that up as the reason, not warming, if you do some research.

East and West of Houston, from the Katy prairie to Beaumont, was once blanketed with ducks and geese along that flyway.

Now not so much, due to human population and subdivisions replacing the rice and soy bean fields, and the changes/decrease in agriculture along the historic flyways.

Land use has drastically changed in Texas the past 40 years. I remember when absentee ownership of large tracts and ranches in Texas was unusual, as many folks and their descendants still lived on the old homesteads - now absentee ownership is the norm.

There is little doubt that humans have effected this planet. Both the weather and all species of life that live on it.
Do we control the weather? Absolutely not.
Climate change has always been the norm. It is only a question of how the different species adapt to the changes.
Man, in his infinite stupidity, is the only species that thinks it can, or wants to, control the weather in stead of adapt.

Now we're starting to see the same voices that have been insisting that climate change is man made start to advocate "geo-engineering" to combat it. So basically, they want to start trying to cause the change they can't honestly prove we're causing, at which point they'll claim their efforts were "too little, too late" and we must abandon the market economy and embrace the authoritarian socialism they worship in order to save the planet...

And sadly, this isn't even some wide-eyed conspiracy theory, this is the current push from the climate alarmists.
