Last time we had an actor/former CA governor in the White House we did pretty good.
    Unfortunately, Arnold is no Ronald.

You're kidding, right? Ronald Reagan was no friend to gun owners. As governor of CA, in 1967 he signed the Mulford Act, a major piece of gun control legislation that prohibited carrying in public. He said at the time that no one needs to carry a gun. The successful passage of that legislation in such a major state provided impetus for national gun control and we got the Gun Control Act of 1968. No, he wasn't directly responsible but he sure did give it a push.

As president, he signed FOPA in 1986 despite the fact that it had been poisoned with 922(o), the section that outlawed new or imported machine guns. An entire class of firearms has, since then, gone from being affordable fun for people willing to navigate a bureaucratic maze to being ridiculously expensive toys for the rich.

The virtues or failings of Reagan as a president are debatable, depending on what you value. If you value gun rights above all else, it's extremely generous to call him "mediocre at best".

I'll pass on another Hollyweirdo as President. Especially this bozo. I'm not all that impressed with his record as governor of the Peoples' Socialist Яepublik of Kalifornia so I do NOT want him being in political charge of anything else. I'd vote for Lady Gaga before I'd vote for Ahnold (which only shows just how disgusting I think him to be)!

To be honest, I was a teenager in Wyoming when Reagan was president and wasn't as tuned into 2A issues.
I'll have to relook at his record on it.

Um, Arnold is not a natural born citizen so he isn't eligible to run and theres a snowballs chance in hell of ratifying the constitution to allow him to be eligible. Just a "give Arnold attention" article, nothing more.

Arnold was kicked out of the Austrian Army (he was a draftee) for getting drunk, going AWOL, and stealing a tank which he took for a joy ride.

Just the kind of people Californians would elect to be their Governor.

Our founding fathers wrote the Constitution with that kind of candidate in mind.
