    This is funny as heck. Was watching the news this AM and there was a story on how the Trump admin wants to transfer civilian firearm sales away from the state department to the FTC so that the US can export more guns without the DOS goofy hurdles. DOS still has control over military sales, but civie guns would move. Guess HK's loss will be S&W or Ruger or Colt's gain.

    Found an article on it... Haven't seen any updates. I really hope this change happens.

    As I posted over on an HK specific forum, I would venture that new factory has MUCH more to do with HK's need for a US production facility to meet applicable laws concerning their expanding contracts to provide more IARs to the Marines and now Army, then it has to do with their desire to expand their sales to civilians here. The Marines are looking at replacing their M16/M4s with IARs across the board.

    HK, like our own Colt, has always based their corporate model on military and LEO sales and only dabbles in the civilian side.
