Scumbag piece of shit. I've seen and attended courtmartials where some soldiers got prison time for desertion. I had a soldier under my command that actually came back because his conscious was bothering him that he ran to Mexico. He got a dishonorable discharge and 30 days in jail for deserting before a deployment. This irritates me to no end as a veteran and non-commissioned officer. That judge needs his commission pulled and forced into early retirement.

Don’t know if UCMJ has provisions to disallow someone from “profiting” (book deal, movie rights, etc.) from their service experiences - I rather doubt it. But I should hope the IRS takes note to insure Uncle Sam gets ALL that would be due him!
