Since most of the ranges in the North DFW area only seem to allow brass? HP or SP for AR15 range ammo, what do y'all who don't reload, prefer to use? I'm looking around trying to find a decent price on relatively clean factory ammo, but am not having the best luck. I don't want to run dirty or bad quality ammo, but I don't want to run the high quality 1 dollar ppr stuff through it for range practice either. Trying to find a nice balance and would really appreciate some opinions from others in the same boat.

I reload but not 5.56/.223 since I don't shoot long range with the gun. Try academy's monarch brass ammo. It performed fairly well in both 5.56 and .308 when I tested it at the 100.

I shoot this, myself. It's out of stock at the moment and the price is higher than when I bought mine, though - I'm still burning through the 500 rs I bought at $160. They're factory reloads, but they're good and very consistent. I fired 10 rounds through a chronograph one time and they only had a deviation of 10.3 FPS.

Thanks for the link. That stuff is fairly clean? I'll have to give it a try.

I've been shooting Prvi Partizan 5.56 that I picked up at the gun show and will most likely be trying out some of the Federal .223 from Walmart next.
