That sounds like poopoo. 800 round recoil spring life is terrible.

Never owned a 9mm 1911, but my springfield range officer has been flawless so far. Light reloads, heavy reloads, dirty or clean, cheap bulk ammo, or expensive SD ammo, its ate it all for 600-700 rounds and still runs like brand new. So far, I havent had a single jam. My only gripe is the rear sight makes carrying it a little awkward, so I rotate it our with my beretta 92 for my 9mm fix. Same holster works great for both guns!

I've been happy with my 10mm 1911 so far. Going tomorrow to unload more ammo.

Harrison Design makes fixed sights for the range officer cut. Nicely melted on the corners and edges.

Ordered them from beretta. Here are some better pics. Im a blued and wood fan, so the plastic grips were the first thing to go! They are $49 right now and they are running a special where you get a set of grip screws free. Only issue i found was needing blue loctite on the grip screws to keep them from backing out after a while.

You didn't have to use the factory grip washers?

I want to say i did use the washers, but its been a while since i pulled the grips. Mine started backing out after about 5-600 rounds. I didnt notice it until i had lost one, so i ordered a set of the allen head screws and loctited them in. 800-1k rounds later, they havent moved.
