According to you, on-duty cops could be banned from private property if it's posted, illegal signage or not.
    Bob

Uh no, this thread is about off-duty cops from out of state. Nice try to change the subject to try and make your failing point.

Works for off-duty and retired cops, too. No change, per Federal law. Fed law supersedes state and local law. Most all departments are given training on this. Sorry I can't help your lack of reading comprehension. As far as where one can carry as an off-duty cop or retired cop, it's settled law from a case in S Dakota a few years back. Think what you want, Brother. Since you're not a cop, I don't think you have too much to worry about. And you have a nice day!

Yeah let's have a little reading refresher, looks like it says the EXACT OPPOSITE of your claim - it SPECIFICALLY says it DOES NOT supersedes state law wrt to private property and certain .gov property. How ironic. Too bad, so sad.

18 U.S. Code § 926B - Carrying of concealed firearms by qualified law enforcement officers

State or any political subdivision thereof, an individual who is a qualified law enforcement officer and who is carrying the identification required by subsection (d) may carry a concealed firearm that has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce, subject to subsection (b).

(b)This section shall not be construed to supersede or limit the laws of any State that—
persons or entities to prohibit or restrict the possession of concealed firearms on their property; or
firearms on any State or local government property, installation, building, base, or park

Hey, let's leave the making up the law to the cops. These silly words or for civilians to stew over. Cops are too busy doing cop stuff to worry about what's written.

    You're not a cop, you wouldn't understand.

Does this mean we cannot talk about Trump, since none of us are/were President?

Well, Carrying under LEOSA and as a Cop licensed in Texas are different. LEOSA does not override state laws regarding where one can carry. The provisions of Texas law allowing Peace Officers and Special Investigators to carry pretty much anywhere do not apply to those carrying under LEOSA.

Since your BIL didn't bother to research the subject before hand or even bother to bring a gun it sounds like you care more about it than he does. Let him go without. And don't take him fishing either or he'll likely drink all of your beer.

    Here
Are you a cop? You need to look at what TX law says about cops carrying a weapon. A little different than what you think. ANYONE is banned from carrying on private property if the owner asks you to leave (unless it's an on-duty investigation). That's true anywhere in the US. Cops are exempt from 30-06 regs and ABC rules. Don't know where you got your info, but it doesn't really matter, if you're not a cop. If you think your CCW is a better deal, that's awesome.

According to you, on-duty cops could be banned from private property if it's posted, illegal signage or not. Ridiculous. Per TX (and Federal) law, armed cops aren't banned from anywhere in the state, except Fed buildings. There was an issue in some TX stadiums, since it's private property, but that's changed now; cops with ID are admitted, per TX law, CCW citizens are not. If you qualify once yearly and have an appropriate police ID, you're good to go just about anywhere in the US. And that's what the intent was. That's why it's titled "Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act".
    Bob

Too bad we don't have a "Citizen Safety Act".
