...so a witness said she had an affair with Officer Goforth. How is that relevant to the case? What is the witnesses relationship with the shooter?

Seems like defamation of character, but I guess we will see how it unfolds.

I don't think anyone is trying to make excuses for this man being gunned down.

Rather, making better sense out of it. Police Officers being murdered simply because of their career field is absurd and disgusting — men losing their life for extramarital affairs has been happening for centuries (not that it makes it right, just makes more sense).

I do remember that clearly from Day 1. I still don't see the connection she has to the shooter or to the crime itself. If he was her best friend, why would she defame his name post-mortem and upset his family with allegations of infidelity...I bet/hope she's lying about her entire connection to Goforth.

ok, what if shooter was mistresses boyfriend? or knew her or ? opens a whole can of worms. or it could be they were meeting up at gas station and it was merely a coincidence.
