That has already been resolved. School board invited him to speak, in uniform, at the school. The article to which you linked even says so.
Holy shit, are people THAT sensitive? Oh wait, I remember this one kid back in high school who moved from Commiefornia who told me he freaked out when he saw a cop with a gun in the building. Guess I shouldn't be that surprised.
That might be against his police departments policy and maybe state policy. To leave his firearm home. My brother in law when he was a LEO, had to be armed at all times whether off duty or on.
I get your angle, and I do respect it. Because I too think there is no reason to go all salacious about issues. We don't need to, to be right. And while in the end cooler heads prevailed. IMO it is still a story and still an issue that people go all bananas when they see a gun. If nothing else, it's an example of how our society is failing...
