Don't think they nest in TX. Probably looking to steal some dinner. Seeing a snowy owl in TX is probably a real good indication of a lousy hunting year farther north.You were probably too close to her nest!
Back in the 80's I was on a hunting lease south of Brownwood Texas. We had one stand that white owls nested in every year. They were very big, with at least a 4 foot wingspan. That stand would be full of bones every year when we cleaned it out.Don't think they nest in TX. Probably looking to steal some dinner.
