The namesake of Edwards AFB, Capt. Glen W. Edwards, died here in the crash of a YB49 in 1948.

There are dozens of crash sites out in the Mojave. Besides this one I rode past crash sites of a B-24 and B-1 that day. Other times I have been to the sites of where an XB-70 and the F-104 crashed after colliding during a photo shoot in 1966.
