Got a feeling it was a harness that wasn't as securely anchored as it should've been. No way they'd have let him race without one, and you'd think they'd have standards it has to meet. Maybe the mounting bolts ripped out in the wreck?

That's exactly what happened. His seatbelt wasn't properly anchored.

Another trick I had was draining the gas hose after gas station was closed, a gas can and tip the hose to the ground.

My brother and I had paper routes when we were teenagers. We would use his scooter to throw papers and at 4-5 in the morning, we could go to a local gas station and drain the hoses to get enough gas for a week. Never got caught.
