Lots of good comments, Thanks. I see online that Joe says he didn't conceded anything. McCarthy says it's a good deal. I thought the original bill passed in the House was a good deal. Now Schummer et al will say they brought the GOP to their knees. In some ways, the fact that the original bill wasn't used, they did.

I too was a furloughed federal employee for if I remember correctly, 3 different times. Amazingly they had enough money to make me come into the Pentagon, sign my letter saying I acknowledged being furloughed, then go back home. I never worried because I had planned financially for the interruptions. Regardless, I was always paid for the furlough time. I still don't know what good came out of it. But Obama/Biden administration was never held to blame.

On Memorial Day, I salute my fellow veterans and their families. And I pray for out fallen, and especially those who are MIA. Not knowing is a dreadful thing. May God have Mercy on them.

Some Texas members of the House did NOT cave:

    Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-Texas)
    Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas)
    Rep. Michael Cloud (R-Texas)
    Rep. Keith Self (R-Texas)
    Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX)

We must only have five Representatives (Republican) from Texas?
