My son and I were at the Murphy's Gun Show in Texarkana, AR yesterday and today. My ears are ringing loudly, much louder than usual! More here:

I have been going to shows since the late 60's, back then a shot would ring out every 3-4 shows...the rules about zip ties and packaged only ammo have made big strides and NO loaded personal weapons inside the door. Great post keeps us all aware which keeps everyone a little safer..Thanks

Gun owners are no exception. Go to your average public range if you don’t believe me.
Reminds me of the time I was on the pistol range and some Japanese tourists decided to come out and fire guns in Texas. I had been alone, and the staff knew me pretty well (I'd called cease fire, all clear, before) so they said to just work out time to go down range between us. The Japanese guys paid attention to all the rules and did everything right. Then a group of chuckleheads in muscle shirts who claimed to be cops came out, set up at the other end of the pistol range, and went to town blasting some targets... while the Japanese group was at their targets at the other end of the range. I yelled at them to stop and waved the Japanese group to come back up, but the supposed cops didn't seem to see anything wrong with it. I don't know what happened after that, since I went back to the booth and told them what was going on and that I was headed out.

So yeah, what he said definitely applies.

Was that the time someone got killed in the parking lot by a ND?
The one I remember was definitely indoors. But I'm sure there's plenty of morons NDing in the parking lots too.
Not sure if it's what you are referring to but a lethal ND in the parking lot ended the Cedar Park shows. FIL got killed by his SIL in their car while reholstering his carry gun if memory serves.

Reminds me of the state trooper giving a class on firearm safety and shot another trooper.

With the rules here in Dallas what they are (all guns tie-wrap opened upon entry, and all guns on display security cabled to tables) one would think a loaded chamber was a knowingly - purposeful act. Can we assume someone got cuffed and escorted out to a back-seat ride? Jeez.... gives all the rest of us a bad name... just when the 2nd amendment is under such heavy attack.

I took a AR in to get some work done on it. I gave it to the guy behind the counter and went to look around the gun store. Next thing I know, I heard a shell eject and hit the counter. Talk about being embarrassed...and I should have been. I'm just thankful he didn't pull the trigger. I never thought I would do something stupid like that, but it showed me that no matter how careful you think you are, don't ever think you won't make a mistake, because it could happen someday.

"So that others might learn." A noble cause.

Learn not to snitch on your self that is. Lol.
