Not all of them. Not by a long shot. There are a lot of completely cool trans folk who consider this new emphasis in the culture on trans rights to be a perversion of the established medical processes involved in treating real gender dysphoria, something that's very, very rare but, nevertheless, requires treatment. The thing is, there's now this thing called "affirmative treatment" where everyone simply accepts that a person is the gender they claim, without question. This has substantially derailed the entire medical community that used to actually treat gender dysphoria.

This "Accept the patient's diagnosis of their condition" mantra is insane. It allows anyone to game the system.

The video you posted is an example of gaming the system in sports. But it's in other places, too, and often given the power of the state to enforce it. For example, in California and (iirc) Oregon, the state has decided you are whatever gender you say you are. Your word is law on the subject, no matter what. The result? Literally hundreds of men in prison have suddenly become trans women and have started being transferred to women's prisons. It's a complete cluster.

There are plenty of fine, sensible lgbt folk who understand that all this, this "gender dysphoria is fashionable" thing, is wrong and that there will be a backlash. They are not looking forward to it.

The problem is gender dysphoria is now no longer in the DSM because of politicalization of the topic.

Ben-- Ive copy and pasted your post to social media. I've removed your name as I do not want you to suffer any backlash. If you want to be credited by name I can certainly do that. It's too good not to share outside of this forum.

You're too new here to know but when I was a more active poster, I frequently hit the per-post word limit and had to spread my essays over multiple posts.

Be glad that I'm not as long-winded as I once was. :)

Ben, there's a difference between rambling crap, and interesting/ informative...

I think we've come full circle for women's rights, when a man (I'm sorry, if you were born a male, you still will have men's characteristics even after transition) can now compete and win in women's sports.

I have zero desire to watch a dude with boobs beat-up on women.

    It needs to be:
    Trans vs trans
    Man vs man
    Woman vs woman

To keep it fair, we'd have to have four divisions in almost any sport:
    • trans men's,
    • trans women's,
    • men's, and
    • women's.
Lucky for me, the sport I most love is traditional target shooting, a discipline where women and men are completely equal. Seriously, I've had my ass handed to me by female shooters more than once. As long as it's a traditional sort of shooting where there's no need for running around and/or controlling recoil, women can shoot just as well as men and very often better. If only the International Olympic Committee would recognize that. :( Well, that's a completely different rant so I'll just leave it at that. :)

Well, to be fair, I'm not the biggest guy on the block, and I know many women that could probably kick my ass. There's a reason I was never in the Olympics. In any sports where size and strength is an advantage, there will always be a man with that advantage over a woman. When an athlete (male), whom may have been good at a sport in high school, but not good enough to compete on a national scale, decides to transition to compete in female sports, he's already born with those advantages. No way any male to female transition should be allowed to compete against a born female. If the trans can smash every women's record, women's sports will eventually be only trans women.

A mediocre male athlete declares he's a woman...won't compete against males, but then becomes a declared world class athlete by virtue of competing against (and winning) women only...what fraudulent crap.

The world has gone mad with mediocre male narcissists allowed to declare they're women.

Don't see real women declaring they're men and then going up against men in athletic contests do you?

    Why is that?

There are some medical conditions where there is an xy chromosome and yet the person has the physical characteristics of a woman and most of these “women “ don’t know they are genetically men. Their lives can be ruined if their real sex is identified. Very difficult situation. Not just a sports issue. Most are identified because of infertility issues.
Yup, I had a friend who had Klinefelters Syndrome (XXY) and am well aware that there are a number of chromosomal conditions that can cause abnormal presentation (he was just a regular dude, i.e. typical KS), but I can think of no better way than Y=male to determine which group you belong in for sport.

I think a lot of so-called "self-affirmed" transgenders have made it a political issue more than anything. To the point that those that are medically transgenders, are being over-looked and going pretty much ignored to their real problems of fitting into society.

The left hijacks things then bastardizes them.

Just as abortion “because rape” became abortion as birth control.

Rights for trans became rights for pervs.

So, the uptick massive increase in the number of people reporting themselves as trans is understandable. It's basically a comforting fashion
    ....
With trans activists, they managed to tag along with the whole gay rights issues for a while to gain some political advantage. Believe me, there are plenty of LGB folks who really wish they could drop the "T" from "LGBT". It doesn't matter. The media and culture have been saying "lgbt" for so long that being trans was accepted as just a part of life and just as valid as being gay.
    ....

Because it tagged along with the political acceptance of gayness, being trans has now become something that, well, if you're against it, you must be an ignorant, biased ...

Agree with your whole post except what was "the camels nose under the tent"
That wasn't the T being added to the lgb, but the LG being tolerated in society in the first place. It is that kind of degeneracey that always precedes a great civilization dying off, empires crumbling, etc. Greece or Rome to name the obvious.

Allowing that to take root in society, to be allowed and accepted in day light is was the nose. Maybe something before that that I am un aware of, but that is just one ignorant biased haters opinion.

Here is another ignorant biased haters opinion...
Gayness is mental illness. In the same way as masochism, sadism, anorexia, bulimia, BPD,
bi-polar disorder, etc. some of these have already been reclassified as fetishes or lifestyle choices. gender dysphporia is no longer a disease if you believe the books. Doesn't make sense, I recently read nearly 50 percent of a scientific survey of "non binary youth" attempt suicide.

Since we all got a crash course in epidemiology lately, let's look at this through that particular lens...

A communicable disease, (through co-rumination as stated in your post) that has the potential to KILL those it infects. A disease that in the last few years has steadily 8nfexted a larger and larger portion of society. Children are especially at risk to this pathogen. It increases risk of deat dramatically according to scientific trials and anecdotal evidence. Not from suicide alone, but also through increased risk of AIDS, hepatitis, and other sinister diseases that act as a secondary infection. Children infected with this disease sometimes grow to adulthood without being cured, which is nice since they did not die, however they have now become carriers, and many times perpetuate the epidemic by intentionally spreading the disease to children. it isn't really their fault, they are "sick".

The gayness mind virus has mutated to the non binary mind virus, and a person can get both at once even!

Good thing we have a solution. Simply reclassified these diseases as fetishes, lifestyle choices, and glorify and praise those formerly afflicted, yet now, blessed, gifted, strong, brave and beautiful people for having been so lucky as to be "non binary" "trans" "gay" "queer" etc.

It is gonna get real interesting when pedophilia catches on. They have their groups as well, and they are working on it.
What will we do then? Be to scared to ruffle any feathers or get shamed on social media to say "no you can't **** my kid even if you managed to make them think it was their idea after a year in your 3rd grade classrom, and you abolished the age of consent with your packed Supreme Court"

This scenario sounds crazy. But is it that much crazier than minor teen girls getting elective double mastectomies, and taking shots to grow a beard? boys barely freshmen in high-school getting their dicks cut off by choice taking shots to grow tits? All without parental consent or even their knowledge?

It either sounds like a really bad scifi movie that didn't even start off as a short story, or something from Ayn Rand

I'm not worried about pedophilia catching on.

Even people who don't know right from wrong in most ways will, perhaps for reasons they can't even articulate, kill you if they catch you f*ing their pre-pubescent child.

Besides, history tells us that efforts to normalize pedophilia are doomed to fail. There was a huge push to accomplish that in the late 1960s and most of the 1970s, around the time that the gay folk acted up and got homosexuality removed as a disorder from the DSM. The pedos tried to ride that wave with the gays. The gay folks wanted nothing to do with them.

Still, they tried. There was a pervasive attempt by the artistic (which almost always means leftist) movers and shakers to get underage sexually-themed art into everything.

There were many movies made with underage characters in sexual roles. "Art house" films frequently used any excuse to show a bunch of naked little kids, sometimes engaged in overt sexual activity because, after all, at the time child pornography was (arguably, but realistically) legal. Even mainstream movies referenced child sexuality in a casual, accepting way; remember that line in "The Amityville Horror" where the teenage girl knows the exact location of the hotel they evacuate to because she's been there so many times in the past with boys?

In print, nudist camp-themed magazines, which had been around for a long time, started to spend much more of their pages showing children. Photography magazines commonly did articles about how to light boudoir photos using 12-year-old models. One of my favorite photo magazines put a nude 10-year-old model on the cover. The Virgin Killer album came out and the cover art was considered "edgy" but nobody went nuts about it.

There are just too many examples to cite. Child sexuality was everywhere back then and the pedos were full of hope.

And then it all came crashing down on them. The "ick factor" eventually punched through to our collective conscious mind. By the late 1980s child porn had been made illegal, arthouse and mainstream movies with little kids pretending to have sex were marginalized almost out of existence, and pedos who got caught were no longer let go with a slap on the wrist. You referenced "their groups" and, yes, they still theoretically exist but just barely and not in any effective numbers. NAMBLA hasn't had more than a handful of members for decades; the Rene Guyon society is (I think) completely moribund.

Has any screen adaptation of the Stephen King's "It" shown the protagonist boys ultimately saving themselves by running a train on an 11-year-old girl, as in the novel? Nope. That shit no longer passes for acceptable.

Hell, even Texas strip clubs are now statutorily prohibited from employing anyone under 21 and most of us are certainly old enough to remember when those clubs were happy to feature 17-year-old dancers.

Overall, our society is way, way more prudish than it was back in the day.

    My point?

"When pedophilia catches on" is never going to happen. They actually had a good shot at making it catch on 40-50 years ago and they tried their best with lots of support from various media power structures. Nevertheless, they failed.

In this age of the internet, where their efforts can be so readily exposed to folks who have their heads on straight, I don't think they have a prayer of "coming out" successfully.

If I'm wrong, I doubt I'll be alive to see it.

I will never never ever watch a tranny on TV. No sports, not Drag Race, no guest appearance, no character in a regular show, nothing, nohow. I HATE that shit!! Yes, I am a bigoted HATER!

The reason is that MOST of the trans people are what they are by CHOICE. Not because they were born that way. It is ugly and it is disgusting.

We even have young females transitioning in THIS small town in Eastern Oregon. I was at my dog groomers and there were two of them working there, strange looking slim/short/petite guys with girls voices and facial features and all tatted up.

I have seen the vids on YT where young males and females have been talked into or trended into making the change and then regretting it... that is sad because there is no going all the way back. But AFAIK it's also the path of most trans that made the change as adults too. Let me tell a story:

My FORMER son-in-law was a cross dresser. My stepdaughter thought it was weird, but whatever. Then he started buying her Victoria's Secret clothes, and she became disgusted because he would wear them himself and she refused to wear them after. Turns out, his Mom and his sister used to dress him up when he was 5-8yrs old and parade him around as a girl. I guess it did something to his mind.

Then he got caught by a co-worker dressing up and going out after work. No longer on that well paying job, he left the family to live full time in the drag community in Portland OR. Lord knows what sexual activities he was doing while there, but then he started talking about being an actual woman in a mans body... and this was a big dude! He started doing office work instead of man's work while dressed as a woman. Took hormones. Wanted the operation, but couldn't pass the counseling required at the time. So the drag community raised money and sent him to China for the whackitoff operation. They even built him a fake vag so he could have "normal" sex with males. IMO he made a physically ugly woman.

He then moved to Ellensburg WA as a woman, and worked as a "transition counselor" in the support system like Ben described. Now, years later, he regrets his decision and wants to live as a man again. Sorry Bud, too late for that!!!

In the process of all this, he destroyed his family. My stepdaughter had a rough time mentally. Their daughter is still screwed up and has to deal with him being around HER son. And his former stepson, my stepgrandson, is totally lost and living on the streets with many mental issues.

If my former son-in-law wants to commit suicide because he's unhappy now, I'd be very glad to help him out with that!!!!!!!!!!!

I sure do hope you are correct.
When virgin killer came out though for the sake of perspective, would you have thought that we would be where we are today as a society in your lifetime?

The lines have shifted so far, that I hope it would turn out the same again. American type values seemed to be the driving force to clean that shit up. But American type values meant something different then. Look at the east where every tent in the desert has Chai boy, and every grandpa has a 9 year old wife. (And they are coming up on their 5th wedding anniversary)

(The past sentence was a bit of hyperbole ofcourse, but at the same time we handed the keys to Afghanistan to the guys that love that ahit the most, and are talking with them like they are actual human beings and even using over the horizon drone strikes to kill their targets for them. )

Virgin Killer wasn't really an outlier. Back then, plenty of bands rewarded their roadies for bringing them the youngest possible groupies. One musician famously bragged that he's "got the Polaroids to prove it." Back when I was in the porn industry, I interviewed a girl who had become house mother (i.e., live-in groupie/maid/seamstress/pizza fetcher/etc.) to a very famous band on the Sunset Strip (when the Sunset Strip was the place to be) when, according to her, she was only 11 years old. (ETA long after the fact - I finally remembered her name. It was Francesca Le. Lovely, smart, mesmerizing husky voice. I was smitten with her. But the woman had gone through more in her life than anyone should have to endure.)

But to answer your question: nope. If someone had shown the world of 2021 to teenaged me, I would have been astounded by pretty much everything.

I would have found the lack of sex among the youth stupefying. I would have found the acceptance of other less mainstream forms of sexuality to be puzzling, at minimum, and most likely shocking.

Back then, I don't think I could have even conceived of today's world.
