Does anyone know if the background checks are still backed up?

    SQLGeek,

YES, and IMO, the "old school" bodyguard in SS is worth a LOT less than 600.oo each. - More like half that much.
(In my days as a LEO, stainless S&W were only 10-20 dollars more than blue or nickel.)

    yours, satx

Well $250 in 1980 is equivalent to $783 and in 1990 is equivalent to about $500 today so accounting for inflation, it's not that far off.

There's not much of a price difference today in blued vs stainless guns offered by S&W. The 442 and 642 are listed as the same MSRP.

    Went ahead and bought it.
The guy behind the counter, in his infinite wisdom, claimed that you shouldn’t shoot +p out of it
    Can anyone backup this claim?

I don't think there's any problem keeping it loaded with +P for EDC.
I don't think you should shoot 1000 rds of +P at the range, just because.

That’s what I was thinking. Another employee agreed with that logic. The guy who first told me apparently owns a gun range so I bet he has bubbas coming in with broken guns

It's tempting but info on the $75 gift card isn't on the website. Do you have to apply for a CC or something in order to get it?

No you only qualify to get it if you buy the gun. I heard them talking behind the counter. It’s $75 off purchase. So if you bought the gun and two boxes of ammo, it’s $75 off total sale. That’s all
