Since Best of the West closed, where can we go to shoot long range in Wilco? Doesn't necessarily have to be 1000 yards. Any good ranges out there in Wilco that have rifle lanes out to 300-500yd or further?

    in response to Ronsroom1 question,
Anybody tell me why indoor range prices are so high?

they have to pay for the building, air conditioning (or heat), big electric bill, costly insurance and property taxes on the facility, maintaining the target carriers, restrooms, insurance, etc, maintenance on the bullet traps, exhaust fans & filters have to run continuously and require filter changes...staff to mop and clean floors, etc...

outdoor ranges do not have the big building and minimal utility cost and much lower property taxes & lower insurance cost on the facility itself. they usually have a much smaller building which results in greatly reduced operating costs

I’m not a huge fan of Eagle Peak—they seem like decent folks but the range marshals are pretty old and grumpy. Probably not a big deal for a seasoned shooter to stay on their good side, but probably off-putting for new shooters.
