How can I tell?Make sure it's actually somewhat matching, at least the slide and receiver. I've seen some pre 1975 receivers with post 1975 slides mixed together.
Other than that, go git!
Thick slide on receiver without the hex bolt would be your major hint. How can I tell?
if you can get a P1 for a good price nab it, now word of caution, P1s have issues where occasionally the decocker will fire a cartridge in the chamber so if you do use the decocker be mindful of that and use one thumb to lower the hammer and the other to hit the decocker switch.Purely just a because purchase, I want a gun from my birth year. I found a P1 made in 1982. It has the thicker slide and hex bolt fixes. Price is fair. Should I get it? Any glaring issues I should look for?
Any suggestions?
I was thinking Browning Hi power, S&W 439/459, etc....
I saw that vid on YouTube too.if you can get a P1 for a good price nab it, now word of caution, P1s have issues where occasionally the decocker will fire a cartridge in the chamber so if you do use the decocker be mindful of that and use one thumb to lower the hammer and the other to hit the decocker switch.
