P226 X-5 Range Report

so since i'm furloughed today with all the rest of the non-essential federal employees

thought i'd take my new P226 X-5 to the range

really nice pistol - i like it a lot

it's a HEAVY pistol - and its weight absorbs almost all of the recoil - this is about as smooth a shooter as i have. still need to work on the accuracy a bit as you can see by the target - but those bad rounds are me - not the gun

no - i'd love to do that - actually with several of my pistols

i need to find one of those for my pistols - but i'm not sure which gun ranges allow that around here (dallas area)

I have a pistol rest to find out if it is the gun or the shooter. 9 out of 10 times it is the shooter. I feel you should know the capabilitys of the gun.

ok went back to the range with this pistol today

i just can't rave enough about how much i love this gun - i had won a free one hour range lesson from Eagle Gun Range in Lewisville back on fathers day and finally got to use it today

if you ever have the pleasure of meeting Rene - a firearms instructor - you'll be glad you did

anyway - he gave me some drills to work on and some tips to improve what i'm doing

i started out with my Springfield EMP .40 and then switched to the X-5.......HUGE difference - HUGE

this is at 15 yards - dropped three rounds but not a bad shot group aside from that
