This could have been avoided - legally - if Clinton and Co. hadn't banned guns from places of worship.
Somebody might have had a concealed weapon on them and could have helped avoid the whole thing.

Pastor shot, killed in front of congregation during Louisiana church service

A gunman walked into a Louisiana nighttime revival service Friday night and opened fire on a pastor while he was preaching in front of about 60 people and then, after the pastor fell, stood over him and fired at least one more round in front of the terrified congregation, authorities told FoxNews.com.

Pastor Ronald J. Harris Sr. was inside the Tabernacle of Praise Worship Center in Lake Charles at about 8:20 p.m. Authorities said Woodrow Karey, 53, walked into the building with a shotgun and opened fire. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene and Karey fled, authorities said.

Karey was arrested minutes later after he called the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and told the dispatcher his location and that he would turn himself in, Kim Myers, a sheriff spokeswoman said.

Police say when they located Karey, he directed them to two guns he had discarded in a wooded area. One being the shotgun, and the other a .22 pistol. Both weapons have been recovered by police.

Myers says authorities are investigating and have not determined a motive for the shooting.

reported that Karey has been charged with 2nd-degree murder and has no previous criminal history.

Family members who answered the telephone Saturday at the Harris home in Lake Charles said there would be no comment. There was no answer at a telephone listing for Karey or at Tabernacle of Praise, the Associated Press reported.

Okay, first of all, how can you possibly blame Clinton for this? It was George H.W. Bush who created the "Gun Free Zone", but even then, it applied to schools, not churches. And while Clinton did issue an executive order that disarmed soldiers at military facilities, it was because of a 1992 directive issued by George H.W. Bush.

Second, none of that has anything to do with churches. There is no federal ban on churches, churches are not "gun free zones".

Third, even if they were, how would a lone gunman killing one person, possibly have been stopped by armed citizens? If every single person in that church had been carrying a weapon, it is likely the exact same crime would still have happened, because nobody would have responded until after the first shot was fired anyway. The only thing armed congregationists would have changed is that the gunman may not have gotten out alive, but it almost certainly wouldn't have changed the initial crime itself.

Look, I agree with your sentiment that an armed society is a polite society and the only way to stop bad guys with guns is by good guys with guns. No problem with that at all. But the sentiments expressed in your initial statement are almost 100% fact-free, and I have a problem with factual misrepresentations...

a church full of guns couldnt guarantee this wouldnt happen

you can conceal a gun and pull it at the most opportune time and get off a kill shot

a church full of guns only limits the damage

to say that carrying in church would prevent this - is a far reach and fantasy
