Fallon is on the ballot for November US Congressional seat to replace former U.S. Rep. John Ratcliffe, R-Heath, after Ratcliffe became the director of national intelligence.

Two seem to be running for the vacancy?

    Rep. Drew Springer, R-Muenster.

Dallas hair salon owner Shelley Luther (defied mandated business closure).

Anyone have any insight into either of these candidates? (I'm in District 30)

Drew spoke to our conservatives group last night. He touted a lot of endorsements from genuine conservative groups. Our new (after the election) Rep Shelby Slawson, who is a personal friend and STAUNCH conservative, endorses him.

He came across as glib and connected. An insider guy at this point but voices strong conservative principles. You’d have to ask his current constituency how true they think that is. I’d like to hear it as well.

As far as the salon owner? She sounds like a stout conservative but my take is she wouldn’t be running except for her sudden notoriety. If it’s only sudden fame propelling her to serve, I read “self serve” in there. May be wrong, but I’m real suspicious.

Watch how they act after the quit talking. Body movements, expressions and overall demeanor.
Go back and look at old videos of JFK and Reagan. Very different in beliefs but two thing stands out. Passion and conviction. Not just in what they said, but in how they said it and how they acted immediately after.
Watch Biden and Harris. They speak with emotion, but not passion or conviction.
Watch them when they say something. Watch them closer when they stop. What's the difference in demeanor?
Say what you want about either JFK and Reagan. Neither was perfect, but they believed in what they said. Right or wrong.
Been a LONG time since I have seen that in most politicians.

Jana & I voted today. Funny thing, lady comes in to the polling office with her campaign T-shirt on and they shut that down. Hey, at least they helped her by saying she could run to the restroom & flip it inside out and come back and she complied. Maybe next time I’ll show up with a Pat Paulsen shirt. Would that get someone kicked out of a polling station?

Here is a summary of the candidates from the Parker county conservatives.

So far I still like Hopper the most based on his positions.

Springer seems like a swamp creature to me.

I am impressed with Andy Hopper also.
My second pick would be Shelly Luther.

They both seem to be able to withstand the pressures that the Austin swamp would place on newcomers.

I doubt Jacob Minter (who? never heard of him) has a chance!

I’m curious to the accuracy of the Springer controversy. I find it funny that Fallon is backing Springer on the basis “need someone who will work with our Governor”?

WTF? Based on what I’ve seen over the last few months I’m not sure that’s a real great asset.

Luther was a school teacher, prior to becoming a small business owner. All 3 candidates tout their conservative credentials. I suspect that any of the 3 would be a better choice than was Mr. Fallon. W/ re: to Fallon & district 30, I always considered him to be a carpet-bagger.
