The ideology came from somewhere - it didn't originate in Cali. We have Texans spreading the same ideologies here. The question is, how to stop if from gaining MORE ground than it already has.

I'd say the ideology started in Europe, infested the East Coast, and it really took hold in California during the 1960's around the time Kennedy was shot. Johnson hit the gas and California was fornicated by invasion of liberals - they'd been a fairly conservative, republican state until around then. The 1970's saw Cali already being wrecked, they migrated northward and began the fucking of Oregon and Washington. Oregon was pretty conservative until the 70's - Governor Tom McCall famously had billboards at the borders that said "Welcome to Oregon, enjoy your visit, don't stay"

My dad tells me that even in the early 70's Oregonians were bitching about California liberals coming in and screwing up the state. The last Republican governor left office when I was five. Been 34 years of Democrat control straight with it only getting worse. Washington has actually had more conservatives in their legislature and in the governor's office - both states, aside from the four or five largest cities in the region are conservative - they're just controlled by the free-shit-army voters of the big cities and don't have enough votes in the more rural areas and smaller towns to over turn the commies, unlike Texas today.

I came from an area infested by liberalism - if not the actual heart of the problem in Oregon because we were where Intel has all its PNW fabs. My former hometown had five Intel campuses, and if you didn't work at / for Intel, you worked essentially to support those that did. We also had Nike world HQ (funny enough, Phil Knight the founder regularly donated to the Oregon GOP but Nike corporate culture was pretty liberal) - Intel imported a lot of their people not only from Cali, NY, and Hellinois, but they drew a shit ton from 3rd world socialist hell holes like India, Pakistan, and all manner of European personas.

Native Oregonians for the most part also despised the Californication, despite a lot of them voting for the politicians who were speeding up the process. A lot probably didn't realize or care they were slitting their own throats with their voting habits. Oregon Republicans area also a very lazy lot - if the candidate isn't perfectly lock step super conservative, they have a hard time supporting any candidate and coming out to vote, despite being mandatory vote by mail.

Despite all of the bullshit though, conservatives and libertarian minded folk were able to stave off draconian New York style gun laws more than once, and put in place shall issue concealed handgun licenses (which only require a basic safety course, no live-fire portion) and state preemption laws over 20 years ago. A lot of us fought as long as we could and decided to leave the shithole and go add our votes to conservative states like Idaho, Texas, or Oklahoma.

I know a few people in California that are fed up and tired of the liberal, socialist commie crap going on in that state. A few are already working on exit plans to move to states that are more gun friendly and less liberal in their politics.

Personally, I'm all for anyone moving to Texas, as long as they embrace the values and things that make Texas so great. And leave their state's baggage at the state line when they come here.
Out here on the Llano, we suspect those people living down I-35 might be a wee bit liberal.

California is NOT the problem, they are just ahead of us in symptoms.
California is a problem, if not *the* problem. It's mostly a cultural and moral wasteland with decent beaches and mountains, if you're into that sort of stuff. I did 35 years there... have very little desire to go back, at all. It's a cesspool of bad ideas.

    I blame TEACHERS UNIONS.
They are the drivers of leftist indoctrination.

Yes the are, but at the same time, parents are also to blame for it as much as the teachers. They allowed the indoctrination to happen, and to continue happening because they are wrapped up in their own lives or worlds for whatever reasons, and didn't get involved enough to know what those teachers were teaching their children.
