A friend I have who lives in Corpus Christi, also owns 80 acres in Missouri
He has to buy a non resident Missouri license just to hunt his own land there.

    It's out of control bullshit

PO Box and a MO carry permit or ID card?

@Big Dipper how do you handle that dual residency thing?

    It’s not “your land”.

Don’t pay “rent” to the county and see what happens,

Burn down the house on their “land” and see what happens.

    “Their” land, “their” critters.
Actually, it's not arson if it's your house, the mortgage loan(s) are paid off, and you don't file an insurance claim. Maybe you violate the burn ban, but hey, there it is.

Wisconsin only recognizes residents and nonresidents. No break for nonresident property owners.

Most irritating because they (WI DNR) claim there is an over population of deer and not enough hunters — duh!

GTG in Texas, but the cost here is in the access.

In WI I have free access to 80 acres (friend’s land) of prime cedar swamp/aspen upland. Alas, I am back in ATX during the season. Lots of access all around for waterfowl.

    Out here by the lake!
You might own the land but you don't own the game that lives on the land. Those belong to the state, thus you need a hunting license.
Not true if they are exotics! Non Native Species are concidered livestock so season, bag limits & license are not required. Plenty of free roaming exotics in parts of Texas.

Note I sad game and not animals?

If you have a private pond that's not connected to anything you can fish in it without a fishing license. Same concept. But if the Trinity runs through/along your land you're going to need a fishing license.

I'm glad I didn't go to Academy. Where I bought my license, they actually GAVE me the envelope but still charged me for the license.
