There's a video on utube of the father (whose teenage son was abducted and molested by some predator), who was waiting in the walkway of the airport when the perp was being walked out by officers to be sent somewhere... basically he was getting a slap on the wrist. The father turned around and put a bullet through the bastard's head then dropped the gun and surrendered.

IIRC, the perp was arriving to face trial, having been extradited in from another jurisdiction.

After the shot was fired, it was abundantly clear the escorting officer knew exactly who the gunman was and really, really didn't want to have to arrest him.

The shooter got 5 years probation and 300 hours of community service. He was also lauded as a hero for the rest of his life.
