Explain to me, if you have a handgun with a pistol brace and you want to legally carry that in Texas in the open it must be in a belt or shoulder holster, correct? Now if you register that as an SBR can you legally carry it in Texas anyway you want as now it is a rifle?

I see it being 1994 again (assault weapons ban). There will be some sort of ________ firearm ban. The Dems will push for something big, and settle for something annoying. We can only hope that they place a time limit on it like the last one.

There is no legal rationale. Some dumbass legislator wrote a puss poor law that allows for a regulatory agency to make definitions up out if thin air. Some entrepreneur decided that he had a work around. Said BS regulator agreed, then changed his mind, then changed his mind again...
This his how communist worked. Wrote BS laws and. regulations that could be interpreted as needed. Find me the man and I’ll find the crime cant become a reality if laws are clearly written. It can only happen. If jaws are up for debate.

Seems the latest news is that braces ARE going to be banned, or rather, pistols with braces are deemed not pistols but SBR's. There's apparently going to be a period for public comment, but the bigger issue is that owners of these devices are going to have 4 options - 1 - destroy the gun or surrender it to the ATF, 2 - register it as an NFA item. Supposedly they are going to allow you to register brace equipped pistols or shotguns as SBR / SBS and waive the $200 tax, 3 - convert the gun into a 'legal' non-NFA configuration or 4 - ignore the bastards and do what you want with it, knowing that its big time federal pound me in the ass prison if you're caught with it. They'll also shoot your dogs, your kids, your wife, and maybe your neighbors for good measure. Jack boots gonna jack boot, after all.

Tough call. There were plenty of machine guns made before '86. Some of them were registered.
Those that weren't registered are hidden and hard to transfer since jail. Those that were registered are worth a fortune. They have not been confiscated ... YET?
Braces and SBRs are far from same same. So, I'm wishing my crystal ball wasn't on the blink.

Damn, I can sort of relate. One of the dogs wanted out to potty. Came right back in the house and shit on the dining room floor. Two legged kid has been a dick all week. Still not sure I actually want the ATF to shoot them, I mean, neither has hit the surly teenager state yet...
