    duljo,

Be certain that the agency you reported the theft to has placed a hold on the recovered gun by Houston. It is not uncommon for things to slip through the cracks and after Houston deals with their offense the gun is destroyed.

By placing a hold on the gun, and some diligence by your agency you should get it back after Houston's case is disposed.

Do not be surprized if it takes a while.

I had a similar situation where Tennesse Highway Patrol recovered one of our stolen guns, on a traffic stop, charged the guy with UCW (unlawfully carrying a weapon) and held onto the gun as evidence.

Took nearly 18 months to finally get the gun back and it took several phone calls both to the Highway Patrol and the county District Attorney's Office to be certain that it did not fall through the cracks.

Best of luck, hope all works out.
