I have just started thinking about getting a pistol caliber rifle. I must confess that I've not yet done much research on this topic. But, the Beretta CX4 Storm looks interesting.

Does anyone have any advice as to whether it would be a good choice for a range gun, just something to shoot reliably? Sort of a larger caliber plinker rather than getting a 22LR. Or, given the price of 22LR ammo, would something like a Ruger SR22 be a better choice?

I used to own a CX4 storm in .40 S&W. USED is the key word. It did not seem at all accurate, and was useless at anything over 25 yards it seemed.

I do love my .17 HMR for a plinker. It is a Marlin 917V, usually goes for about $209 at walmart. Add a decent scope and a bipod and you have a real nice 200 yard plinker that shoots cheap ammo...

    ive got a hipoint 995.
havent got to take it to the range et, but i have read reports of folks getting decnt groups at 100 yards.
ill have data from 25 50 and 100 monday or so.
and if ya liek the looks of the storm, you can grap a tock for the hipoint from ATI. that looks rather similar.
