huh ? my Wife purchased an LCR .357mag quite a while ago
I think it was referring to the 9mm one; with moon clips I'd assume? It used to be that small revolvers were much more reliable than small semi-autos, but that is no longer the case. Unless you're just a "revolver guy", the semi-auto options would work out better for most people.

Im bored and I was going to be nasty but oh never mind
I'm offended you held back! Stop speaking like a bitch.

I like my Nano. Small enough for my shorts pockets with six round mags with added pinky extensions. I usually carry it IWB, though, with eight round mags. And it's been 100% reliable at the range and in the pasture. Honey, I shrunk the Glock.

Necro nacro bim bam boo, necro thread, I chose you...

This was a great write up, glad to see the Kahr in there for comparison. Would love to see some of the newest stuff throwin in this mix as an update to the OP.

My wife bought a Beretta Nano not long after it first hit the market - came with a flush fit, and a pinky-extending mag. She tried to like that gun but found it just...weird. Not Glock-like at all in trigger pull - more of a creepy, unnecessarily heavy DA pull despite being striker fired. Kind of like a Taurus PT111.

She did not enjoy shooting it either - was very muzzle flippy. I tried steering her to other guns, but what the woman wants, the woman wants. She wound up with the Shield, which she shoots far, far better. She originally had the OG shield 9, then back in 2020 I got her the 2.0 version which she likes even better, because of the nicer trigger and night sights the new one has.

Since this thread's last post was in 2014, the Sig P365 wasn't even a thing in any member of the public's mind. I know at least one person in the original replies has a 365 as their EDC now.

We're in a golden age of pocket rockets.

These necro posts are like dead hands grabbing me every time...

Only after I like a few years old posts do I realize I've been putting flowers on graves...

Me too. If anyone has some of the newer models, take some pictures next to one of the older ones for a frame of reference, and let us know what you think.

I don't think it counts as a pocket gun - but I've got comparison of my wife's Shield 2.0 with the 356 XM

    LcpBS80.jpg

That is with the Shield atop the Sig, with the 7 round mag (pinky extension aluminum base pad)

And here's one with the 8 round extendo

And then a side by side, also with the Beretta 92 for size reference

There really is not much difference in grip height - especially if using the 8 round magazine.

The slide on the XM is a little longer due to the comp - but both guns use a 3.1 inch barrel.

Here's some better shots directly comparing the Shield 2.0 9 to the 365 XM

Butt to butt to get a good idea of grip thickness

Then slide to slide to show how thin the slides are: The top of the XM slide tapers in, its narrower than the Shield, but the optic is just as wide as a Shield, so OAW with the optic is the same.

The 365XM *does* actually fit in the front pocket of my shorts, but you can definitely tell what it is, and you definintely feel the weight.
