OK folks, I just spoke with Jennifer @ Bexar Community Range.

We're looking good for Saturday 09/26/09. There's no CHL classes scheduled at this time. There is some sort of skeet gathering, but we have dibs on the outside patio area for lunch at N/C. Sadly, I know this date won't work for everyone, but no date would accomplish that.

There's a small home made charcoal grill we can use. Jennifer cautioned it was small, so if anyone has a cooking aparatus (gas or coal) it would help. All we need to do now is to figure who's coming and who's bringing what.

I'll propose a list here of the basics. Anything beyond the basics will just be a bonus. Feel free to add anything I may miss:

charcoal & fluid or gas (Texas solo)
hot dog & burger rolls
hot dogs
burgers
drinks
condiments
paper towels

I'm guessing it would be best to meet up around 0900 when they open to beat the heat. I'm open to any and all suggestions as this is OUR range day, not mine. I just wanted to get the ball rolling to meet some new folks and make some new friendsatriot:

much to my sadness, I will be unable to meet up for this day o'fun. Have to be at work by 4am, and probably be there until about 3pm. If I can I will try to make the next one.

Might I suggest bring your own drinks? That way, you're not drinking what someone ELSE likes....

I'm thinking that I might stick up a list of some of my more unusual pistols an' see who'd like to see which one. Ain't 'bout ta tote all of 'em out, but folks have asked 'bout some of 'em from time ta time when talking about what they might like to carry/own.

I'm starting to think how much easier it would be, given that we don't have a big crowd. There's a "greasy spoon" right up the street in the corner market, or we could run up 10/90 west to the "Flying J", or hit something on Pat Booker (Lonestar Cafe comes to mind!)

Only problem is that we have to make that decision in advance so folks know what to expect, and so we know if to bring the chow or not.
At this point, with only 3 of us, I'd be just as happy going out.

I'm in, I'll bring water and sodas, just need to see what kind of sodas everybody will want. (I don't drink sodas anymore so it makes no difference to me.) I'll bring my suppressed toys out, and I'm still holding out hope that Sig gets the threaded 229 barrel in 22lr to a dealer before too long.

Actually, ice tea works well for me.

I'm thinking of picking up a charcoal grill and just donating it to the range. I was there Tuesday, and what they have is pretty crappy. I guess I'll bring a cooler with ice too, so we can keep the food & drink cool.
