.22 TCM near dusk. Camera didn't care for the low light conditions. Used frames from 4 different shots to get a pretty good life cycle of the muzzle flash.

    That is way cool.

    Careful with the 50!
I always feel it's like putting my cheek next to a controlled pipe-bomb.

The flash in your video is so fast as to be near invisible in the real time shot.
    Great effect.

My latest .50 experience is a 18 year old that didn't listen when I said "DON'T shoot my steel" which happens to be 1/4" AR500 from the welder guy out by Bandera.
ALL military M33 BMG is steel core and tends to like to bounce back, especially off AR500 which is elastic instead of soft like your rolled steel.

The 100 yard AR500 plate was knocked loose from all it's welds from it's stand and imperceptibly (2mm maybe) deformed and the round almost certainly came straight back toward us.
Don't even want to think about how fast!!!!

Yep, all my plates are mild steel. BiL started shooting at them from about 25 yards with his AR after being told they were pistol only. He got about 5 rounds on it before he started catching copper jackets coming back. People don't like to listen.

Luckily, I get the plates cheap enough replacement hasn't been an issue and some people get to learn why I say "don't shoot those plates from here".

I like those TCM pics. I always heard they made some good fireballs. Somebody with a Mosin carbine needs to take some pics.

Where's Finngunner? Not sure his stuff fits in the poor-mans category though.

It does. Looks like I'm getting pushed around a lot in the vid but it's really pretty tame. You don't really have to think about keeping the rifle tucked tight I'm your shoulder and bearing in to it with this one. Just get comfortable and shoot. Downside is lugging it around.

I really couldn't push in the the gun with the way it's set up right now. Need my bipod adapter.
