I've had this dang thing for 2 years and I have no idea what the switch does. I assume it's a range finder, but I need a battery to turn it on, anyone know what kind of battery it takes? Thanks. I hope it's not some random commie thing I'll never find.

Oh, I thought these scopes had a "range finder" feature on them. Is that for like "low light" situations? Do you happen to know what kind of battery it uses?

If there is a rang finder its part of the retical. Mine had German chevrons. They had a few options including mil dot and the Russian ones with the range finding graph. They also come with different mounts .
