I'd like to do some load development with my 1911A1, and may use a stronger-than-stock recoil spring and a recoil buffer to keep the slide velocity from getting ridiculous. My question is, what can be done to keep the extra-heavy recoil spring from battering the piece as it goes back into battery under the power of the extra-heavy spring?
