its where anyone with a camera and internet access can launch their own porn career and get horny dudes with more credit / money than they need pay average women to do what porn actresses and lingerie models do.

Agreed but you can't argue with success. Like all careers, there are a very few over-achievers at the very top of the business. The biggest star on OnlyFans has publicly stated that she makes over USD$1M/month. Having run the numbers, I believe her. Of course, the high achievers have short careers; their fans want something new in short order. But if the girl is halfway smart, before she's 25 she will be able to sock away enough money to never have to work a real job again. She'll just have to manage her investments.

    To All,

Some 3 decades ago, I worked (while in grad school) as a guard for a private women's college.

One morning in October, I was summoned to the college president's office & told to, "Close the door & take a seat".
(I was wondering, "What the H did I do wrong?")

The president said, "Tex, I have a very sensitive job for you & your partner, as the 2 of you work the night shift." (PAUSE) "You may tell NOBODY except your partner, Julie Anne. NOT even your wife, as if this gets out it will damage the reputation of our college."
He then said, "I've heard that a prostitution ring is active among the coeds in _________________ Hall. I want the 2 of you to find out what is going on, if anything, STOP IT & IF you find./stop anything, get back to me."

About a month later, I had to tell the president that there definitely IS a "rather sophisticated" prostitution ring operating out of that dorm BUT neither of us can tell you what to do to stop the business.

I nearly "jumped out of my skin" when DR. D______________ slammed his hand down on his desktop & then quietly (after about a count to 20) said, "Why the HELL NOT?"

I said, "Dr. D______________, it didn't take us long to find out WHAT some of the coeds were doing, how they do what they do & that the "ring" is very profitable, too." (I paused & collected my words, as I didn't want to get fired.) "Dr. D___________, it works like this: A customer calls one of several payphone numbers in the dorm, a girl answers the phone, asks who it is & what does the caller want.
The caller then says, "I'm looking for a blind date with a beautiful college girl."
The coed who answered the phone says, "What sort of girl do you want??" (The caller says what sort of "blind date" that he wants.)
Then she says, "Are you a nice guy & very generous too?" "You should expect to spend at least 500 dollars on your date.)

Presuming that the quoted "price" is acceptable to the caller, the coed says. "Fine. Pick your date up in front of the dorm at ___O'clock."
(She also asks about the car that the customer will be driving.)

At the appointed time, the coed meets her "date", gets in the car & leaves campus. THEN, she directs the "date" to one of the local banks & places a sealed envelope into the night deposit slot & then "goes on 'the date' with him".

I could now see that Dr. D_____________ is "Mad as H".

Finally, Dr. D_____________ asked, "IF you know that much, why can we not stop the coed-hooker operation?"

I explained that with over 600 coeds in that one dorm, HOW do we know which girls are legitimately going out on a date with her BF & which "dates" are "for pay", as the girls won't likely talk, the customer won't talk, the banks & motels have no reason to help us, even if you wanted us to risk outsider learning the TRUTH.

Fwiw, I "was dismissed from the president's office" & never heard anything more from the college president about this "business again" & at the end of Spring semester, I finished school & left the college's employment..
(All these years later, I still have wondered how many TENS of THOUSANDS of dollars that the coeds made from their "little private business". = The total amount could have been HUGE. MAYBE hundreds of thousands.)

    yours, satx
Nice story. I was expecting it to be a joke with a punchline at the end. Truth is stranger than fiction. Thanks for sharing.

    Perhaps a very valuable "lesson" was learned. . . . . .

    LeVieux,

I can think of at least 2 lessons that can be learned from this incident:

    1. IF you are a beautiful college girl, who is willing to sell sex for $$$$$, she & her "girlfriends" can make a LOT of money, at low risk of punishment, given how difficult/expensive that preparing such a case for court would probably be.
    AND
    2. There are some crimes that are difficult or impossible for a detective to prove in court AND/OR that "the powers that be" ARE WILLING TO PURSUE in open court..
(It's NOT just small private women's colleges don't want a LOT of BAD PUBLICITY)
FURTHER, I'm still not sure over 4 decades later HOW to PROVE what happened in a criminal district court, as NONE of the "active participants" WILL RUSH TO HELP the LEOs/prosecutors and/or willingly even talk to the police.

    just my OPINIONS, satx

I dunno about that.... I survived a fall off an 8' ladder. Make that an 80' ladder and the odds of me surviving diminish greatly!

    Dougw1515,

IF I remember my PD training correctly, your chance of surviving a fall from a height where the victim achieves TERMINAL VELOCITY is essentially ZERO.

Nonetheless, my dear Ellie (my housemate/BEST PAL, who passed away from a fall on 18DEC2017) fell about 3-4 FEET & struck her C1-area on the edge of a glass cocktail table. = Her doctor told me late that night that she could have fallen in the same way a great many times & NOT gotten more than "minor bruises" but that in this single instance, she "hit exactly right" to NOT survive that "minor incident". = The only GOOD THING was that Dr. Patel said that she possibly saw "a flash of light" & perhaps NOT even that, before she expired.

I have "stuck the landing" from 1250 feet and higher. A parachute helps. :)

    Bozz10mm,

When I worked as a deputy with the NOCSO, an "intoxicated man" fell or jumped from the top of the HUEY P. LONG BRIDGE & when another deputy was directed to go look for the body, he found a "homeless male" sitting under the bridge & drinking from a quart of WILD IRISH ROSE wine. - The deputy asked the homeless guy, "Did you see the fool fall off of the bridge?"

The, by then quite drunk, fellow said, "The fool that jumped off the bridge was me.."
(One wonders HOW anybody could survive a fall from that height & W/O apparent injury.)

Dude, that story alone is worth thousands of dollars!

You had me at being conceived in a Toyota Corolla! That got my sympathy vote!

    Axxe55; All,

Sir Henry Morgan, who once owned the MORGAN CAR WORKS in The UK, claimed that he was both conceived & delivered in the seat of a MORGAN 3-WHEELER.
(One needs to KNOW how small that the seat of a MORGAN "TRICYCLE" actually IS to fully appreciate Sir Morgan's claim.)

Early 80s a stoner wandered into elevator or air shaft in the Transamerica building in San Francisco. Despite falling over 20 stories, he survived the fall and all he had was a broken leg.
