KINGSVILLE - A man involved with the shooting of a Kingsville donut shop owner in May escaped from the Kleberg County Courthouse Monday morning.
Kingsville police are on the lookout for Rafael Ortega, 18, after he escaped around 9 a.m. Monday morning. Witnesses said he was being transferred to the courthouse for a hearing when he jumped out of the prisoner van. He then jumped into another vehicle and took off.
Rafael was charged with aggravated robbery in the May 9 shooting at the Donut Palace on King Street.
