    Apologists -
a person who makes a defense in speech or writing of a belief, idea, etc.

This is a ONE SIDED debate thread. Pro Gun and 2nd Amendment only.

This thread is to help folks argue, post, respond to anti gun stances on topics.

I'm looking for well thought out, well written, and persuasive Apologists, or links to such articles, to help others who would like to enter debates and defend the 2nd Amendment and gun ownership.

I also need some grammar nazies, or better said some proof readers, to help perfect these articles.

Your posts can be a simple letter to a congress person, the gun show loop hole, pro carry, etc.

Responses to posts should be respectful of the argument and helpful.

PLEASE No debates!!!!! No half assed remarks. Think of this as a library of pro gun knowledge.

    Background Checks For Private Sales.

Mandating background checks for all private gun sales would create a unlawful burden and a tax on gun owners wanting to sell their private property.

The Federal Firearm Licensed (FFL) would charge a fee to do the transfer. This can range from $20 to $75 per gun sold. This is adding to the purchase price if the gun or cutting into the profit of a gun seller.

The private parties wishing to sell the gun would need to physically meet at the FFLs convenience, time and location, to do the transfer. An inconvenience and a bother to those wanting to exercise a constitutional right.

The inherent tracking of these lawful transactions going though an FFL makes this a default gun registry.

The enforcement of this would need funding by the state taking dollars away from the budget of police departments with more important priorities calling the money they are budgeted.
