Project RIA 10mm

Recently bought this 10mm RIA from a member here who didn't shoot it (I haven't either)......going to do some engraving and other work to it.

It will be my Son's Father's Day gift. He has already seen it and he is working up art work for the engraving. I don't have a clue what he is going to come up with.....

Typical field strip............

Ready for stripping the finish and polishing

Parts that will not be going back on the 10mm....

Removing the rear sight. I will typically remove sights from left to right and install from right to left.......

almost out..........

Removing the front sight from left to right.....

almost out...not a mark on the sight or the slide.......

Grip bushing removal tool

Put a grip screw in and tighten it down to the bushing.............

Slide the bar in and remove the bushing without fear of bushing or frame thread damage.......

My Son finally decided on what he wanted and we engraved the RIA 10mm.......it's currently in rust cabinet....also a Ruger MKII project....

Will post pics when it's done.....................
