I’ve got an 870 Express Magnum with a 28” barrel that I scored for next to nothing.

    I’ve also got a Wingmaster, another 870 18.5”, and a Tac-14

Any suggestions on the Express? Like a shorter barrel and magpul furniture?
I hate to spend too much on it considering it’s an express and I got it in a trade. But wouldn’t mind making it a little less lame.

    rman,

IF the Express Magnum was MINE, I would cut down the barrel to 20" & mount a 2-3X quality scope on it.
(I might even consider a RIFLED barrel for it, though I would try the smooth-bore barrel FIRST, as a lot of these shotguns are surprisingly accurate with slugs or 00/000 buckshot out to the limits of the distance that you can SEE the game.)

I once had one of those & it was a POWERHOUSE in the brush for BIG GAME. = An old boarding-school friend has hunted down & killed NUMEROUS feral bulls & BIG hogs in the south TX brush country with his rifled-shotgun, using saboted slugs.

    just my OPINION, satx

Thanks everyone... I am leaning towards a 18.5 or so and some magpul furniture, and calling it a day. I’ve been on a ODG kick lately, so maybe the furniture in that color and if I’m feeling stupid I might rattlecan the receiver.

Already have a couple “tactical” ones and the wingmaster
