PROMISES, PROMISES: Obama tax pledge up in smoke

The largest increase in tobacco taxes took effect despite Obama's promise not to raise taxes of any kind on families earning under $250,000 or individuals under $200,000.
    ...
"I can make a firm pledge," he said in Dover, N.H., on Sept. 12. "Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes."

It's a tobacco tax now, but it'll probably be ammo tomorrow.
And then who knows what after that; he needs to raise $10T.

Well he did run on a platform of change....

"I know I said that during the campaign but now the campaign is over and we are switching from the hope portion of the program to the change portion where I change everything I promised and you were stupid enough to believe...." [\end sarcasm]

My favorite joke after the Clinton presidency was that they changed the name of his home town in Arkansas from "Hope" to "Wishful Thinking"..... If Obama has his way the name of the whole nation will have to be changed to something like the Unites Socialist States of America.
