Contractor sending worker to install smoke detector, where is it?

Ok we’re going to go get it now.

Worker @ 10:30am:
I’m here to install the smoke detector

Me @ 10:30am:
I ask MIL where is the smoke detector?

MIL @10:30:
Oh you need it now?
We haven’t bought it yet.

I can’t even…

Well, if I was still with my wife and her Mother still alive, I could invision something like this. I think she secretly hated me kinda, that she wanted a city puss for a SIL and I was too much country type person for her liking, but was all nice and caring to my face. I kinda felt it was mutual about her, lol.

Now that I’ve got a moment…inspection was supposed to be this morning.

4:30p rolls around, no use leaving a voicemail and city hall is only a couple miles away…so Mrs drives over to see what’s up.
She ain’t happy LOL

“Oh, sorry. The inspector called in sick. I’m new and don’t normally do inspections on my own, but if he calls in sick tomorrow then I’ll inspect it in the morning.”

I had to buy it online at Home Depot, had them pick it up.

Contractor didn’t network the smoke detectors together per request from prior inspection…that was one issue.

The rest are a bunch of wires in the attic that need junction boxes…was supposed to have been done months ago.
