I'm getting the permit in the near future, and was wondering what else its good for. I'd like to do some target shooting. Would that qualify as recreational? I din't see any thing in the rule section of the booklet.

That is what shooting ranges are for. Not many shooting berms on public land I would guess.

Still trying to get back on my feet. My head injury isn't getting any better and school work keeps coming. At least my teachers are working with me.

No centerfire or rimfire rifle rounds allowed so most target shooting is out.

Shotgun is limited to 4 shot so that won't do much.

Guess you could practice target shooting with a bow but I doubt those using the area for hunting will appreciate that.

I think you should read the rules again and very carefully.

Yeah I don't see using public hunting land to target shoot going over well with anyone. Then again I don't have to worry about hunting on public land and have never done it. I'd imagine you would piss off just about everyone else who's trying to hunt.

So if its a week day and I'm the only one there I should be...

I guess at the very least I could pop in to sight my rifle and test new loads.
