Here's a brand new, out of the box, Springfield EMP .40sw I checked out at work today. This one will already be headed by to Springfield for some sort of repair work. Basically the firing pin was stuck full forward, and if the gun managed to feed properly it would have been a one shot mag dump gun needless to say. ;) Because of that, of course the backplate was loose as well. For a $1200 F'in gun? This is BS.

Even worse than that is we've received some POF AR's over the past few months, some with rusty screws on some of the picatinny sections on the forend. On top of that, one of them had a castle nut that wasn't even hand tight. Minor detail I know but, for a $2100 gun I would expect better than that. Oh, and there's also the S&W M&P15 VTAC, which used to be good about properly staked gas key bolts, and now it looks like they aren't even attempting to stake them or are barely even touching them. What the heck is going on? I know what's going on as far as trying to keep up with demand and quality slacking, though it's pretty annoying to see this on higher dollar guns.

Thats kinda scary lets hope all gun shops check their weapons over before they sell them. It personally doesn't bother my bying because I go over everything I purchase before using but some don't.

Sad to see that. For that kind of money there should be zero out of the box issues. I only had a loose rear sight on my STI when it came in. Needed to be adjusted anyways.

Sig, I hate to be the one to bring this up, but you havent had so much luck with Springfields lately! Run, dont walk down to the store and buy you a Kimber and you wont have to worry about all of these problems! Or, heres a thought, throw those Springfields in the trash and get you a Sig!

The POF is shocking though. I have been lusting after a POF 308 for a while, I would like to know for that kind of money, you are getting a somewhat custom shop rifle.

None of the POF's we've been getting even come with friggin iron sites. For $2100-2600 that's pretty lame, though I know lots of other manufacturers have been doing the same crap. I just checked out an LMT MRP gas piston today which was $2100. Let me put it this way about what I've seen with POF. That LMT looked to be 10x the gun for the same price, rail is lower profile, plus you actually get irons with it. ;) lol

You know, Okie, I didn't even think about that! I'm sure I would have no problem whatsoever with an M1A or an Operator TRP, so you are more than welcome to buy me one. ;) lol j/k

those POF's are expensive. you can get knights armament for around 2000-2500 right now and they are fully decked out.

Because Kimber and Sig are the poster children for QC...

Anyone see a trend? Is it because the same guy that worked at Kimber is now working at Sig?

I only buy older pre-management change Sigs so far. They work just fine and there are plenty of them, plus they are a lot cheaper than the new ones so it doesn't affect me. ;) lol

Maybe everyone ought to run out and buy a M&P? Maybe I am lucky, I have had 0 problems with any of my Kimbers. They run and run and run.
