What happened on Nov 4 that equates to the death of the USA? Two men ran for president. More of the country voted for one than the other, the electorate agrees, and he becomes president elect. Sounds like democracy to me.

Thank you for the civics lesson, but the process isn't what the OP is about. Or are you be facetious?

The US, as in the "state" has not ceased to get stronger - if "war is the health of the state" - then I'd say it's pretty damned healthy......

It is human liberty that is on it's death bed - and has been for a long time before Obama had even been born - wherever he was born. This death has been accelerated greatly in the last eight years though.

I agree it's pretty depressing, but I'm going to keep working for a change, but it ain't the change that has been sold by the new Messiah. Pretty soon, he and his nonsense will be exposed and discredited. It'll become apparent that this country needs to take some really bad tasting medicine... that'' make us sicker before we get better, and in the end we'll have to relearn what individual responsibility and self reliance is.

I believe that the recent election is an indicator of real change in the philosophy of various regions of the country. They are moving further apart, not closer together. Some areas want and see a quasi-socialist cradle to grave system that relies on the centrla government as their future. Others, not so much... The possibility of politically separate geographic areas is more conceivable than it ever has been.

Don't let the pissants get you down. :)

I believe that on a whole, Americans have become prostitutes, selling themselves to whoever offers them the most free stuff, (health care, prescription drugs, retirement, tax rebates, bailouts...etc). History has shown that to be the beginning of the end for societies.

I agree however more to the problem is our lack of standards, morals if you will, in that area we are failing bad, along with that is our public school system while we have some good teachers the system itself has built in failure as being ok. It's become racist to be patriotic and fashionable to be anti-American with all this tack on greed and we have a system for failure. Not sure what it will require to change it however I'm certain it is going to take sacrifice and hard times before we once again know what is important. Those waiting for one man to make necessary changes are going to be sadly disappointed.
