I can relate (at length, with detailed stories) to more than half the posts in this thread. But I'm trying to think of something earlier than expected in my life that doesn't just repeat points already made.

How about this story that I've told before: In my late 30s, a porn star adopted me as a surrogate father figure. At no point did she have a single thought that included me and sex at the same time. I was just an older guy she was comfortable talking to.

To be fair, she was still a teenager but still, it kinda stung the ego a bit. I responded by acting out with a couple of other (legal) teenagers...but that's a story for another day.
Do you have the names of the porn girls so I can see how hot they are?

    Do you have the names...?
Of course. But I'd never publish them here. Refer to the "Beer Flu" thread and you'll see I've never published any of my photos of unclothed women there, either.

I'm perfectly willing to talk about some of the stupid and/or salacious shit I've done in my life but I'm not dragging anyone else into it.

Except Ron Jeremy. Screw him. I'll tell folks as many stories as I have about that jerk.

At 55 I rode my motorcycle around the U.S. for a little over two months with a pup tent I called home. On one of those days I decided to get my 'iron butt' award, travelling from Twin Falls, Idaho to Lincoln, Nebraska in 19 hours. Although I still love to ride over 9 years later, I'm not sure I could put my body through what I once had.

If the dismissal was due to not being physically or mentally able to do the job, it is legal.

If it was simply based on his age, it's illegal.

The purpose of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA, Public Law 90-202) was to promote employment of older persons based on their ability rather than age; but in this case, it appears he wasn't actually able to continue to do the job.

However, that should have been readily apparent, and something which could easily be demonstrated.

Yes. It was, partially. Under the SS Disability rule for people over a certain age, they go back into past jobs, 15yrs I think, and if you can do any of that work, then you get denied.

After 2yrs of denials and appeals, I finally got my day in front of the judge. My lawyer from Heard and Smith, a national firm, hadn't even read my file and during the hearing sat there and said nothing.

Anyway, after the third party doc confirmed I could no longer do that job, they said I could still do Rep work, as in Air Life of Oregon Representative.... problem is there wasn't a job in that field. So they said I could answer telephones somewhere. I thought they were violating the equal pay clause, but my lawyer didn't object. Judge chewed me out.

    Too long of a story.

    Oh yeah, the guy that...
I don't care about that. He's up on a bunch of rape charges and I'm pretty sure he deserves about 5 times as many convictions as he currently has cases. He was fun to hang out with once, back before I understood who he was in private. Now I'm embarrassed that I ever bragged about the times we hung out.

Many do for me seeing that I walk with a cane. Then again it could just be all the booze I’m
    buying.
Try out a "shepherd's crook" instead of a regular cane. The doctor told my dad that a regular cane is bad for the wrist and posture and actually detracts from stability. Just trying to help, besides with the extra length you can reach out and touch someone if need be. LOL

I a U.S. Whip WC Wooden Livestock Cane. I had left the adjustable aluminum cane at the house on a day we were running errands.

One of our stops was Tractor Supply so I grabbed it. The only thing that sucked was seeing as it’s for live stock it lacked the rubber boot.

I’m sure it would work fine as an impact weapon if need be. I have a Hawthorn walking cane that is nice looking, but totally impractical.

Since the shepherd crook is long, nearly 6 feet, it forces one to walk upright instead of stooped over putting stress on one's wrist. You can just put a rubber chair boot on it when the factory one wears out. It has helped my dad's posture tremendously.
