Parking for this show on Sunday is going to be terrible. There is a football game that was rescheduled for this Sunday. On football days all the parking is sold out by prior parking passes. That means no on site parking. That means walking or taking the train from the lots north or south of the stadium. And around the 1:00 the game crowd will start showing up. Saturday will be the day to go.

Just a few more hours.... If you see a bald white guy walking around with an asian girl that will be me. Just look for the huge ass grin on my face.

I had an amazing time. Ammo prices were a little high and there a few dealers that wanted tooo much for too little rifle.

I bought a pair of RoCo grips for one of my 1911's. Saw a deal that boggled my mind but couldn't quite go for it. Vendor had a TOTALLY rusted piece of metal with vague general outline that might have once been a cap and ball revolver. It was so badly rusted you could barely distinguish the "cylinder" from the "frame". Price tag: $1500!
I wondered if he had accidentally omitted the decimal in front of zeros or was just trying to get someone to stop. I wasn't interested enough to ask.

People were definately taking advantage of the "increased" interest in guns. Bachman's had competative pricing on most of thier rifles that I saw. I admit I was not looking at the AR variants too close though. I was M14 hunting.

I was living in California and went to the Orange County gun show during the last month that you could legally buy a .50 cal centerfire rifle there. It was REALLY packed and I later read that they sold more of those rifles in 1 month than they had in the past 5 years, in California. Sooooo many people were scrambling to get AT LEAST a receiver. Companies had deals where you could just buy the receiver now, and they would build the rest of the rifle for you later.

Gun shows there lost much of their fun though, especially once the city of Pomona banned the big gun show and it was forced to move to Las Vegas. FTF deals required FFL transfers, so if you came across somebody walking around the show with a rifle you wanted, you'd have to walk over to a dealer table and do the transfer for $35 ($25 state fee + $10 for the dealer). The dealers in CA are required by law to transfer long guns (handguns, only if they sell them), but, strangely, their computers always went down right when you needed to do one. Then, if you magically were able to get the dealer to do the transfer, you could walk home with your prize in 10 days.
