Finish - The finish is an original phosphate parkerization with some patina. It's in very good shape. Some minor wear points at the muzzle, on the hard edges, and on the bottom of the slide and dust cover section of the frame.
Slide Stop - Serrated, no top serrations, blued. Correct for this serial number. The serrations don't go all the way up, which was changed after this serial number range.
Barrel - The barrel is HS marked which is correct for this serial range RR M1911. It's blued on the exterior with some wear on the usual places.
Grips - The grips are period correct Keyes late grips which have a ring around the screw holes.
Safety, Hammer, Trigger, and Magazine Release - These are all blued and checkered components.
Magazine - The magazine is a WW1 Colt two-tone magazine (Type IV). This magazine alone is worth $150, and I've seen them go for more to a hungry buyer.
MSH - The MSH is an 11-serrations, curved, parkerized A1 model.
Slide - The slide is marked "Remington Rand Inc. -- Syracuse, N.Y. U.S.A" and is a Type III roll mark.
Markings:
FJA - Beneath the slide stop on lower frame.
4 - On the trigger guard, control side of lower frame.
P - Next to the magazine release.
HS - On barrel where link attaches at the lugs.
P - Top of slide, between rear sight and barrel opening.
Cannons - Springfield's mark, next to sear and hammer pins.
NO. - Big O preceding serial number.
L - On the trigger guard, opposite of "4", non-control side.
I - On the trigger guard, near mag release screw, non-control side.
