Brake pads seem to last surprisingly long.

My research showed semi-metalic is the way to go for constant towing. They will get your wheels dirty but don't send as much heat to the calipers and rotors.

Ceramics stay clean but transfer more heat. After turning my rotors and putting ceramic pads on the rotors were warped again after a month.

I don't have many towing miles on yet since new semi-metalic pads and new rotors but so far it stops much smoother and even got rid of a high speed vibration.

I guess you have a year to decide which style to go with since you don't tow a lot but when you do it's heavy.

Lots of fancy brands available but if the factory pads aren't trashing your rotors OEM may be the way to go.
